Trek has brought the Argentina dove hunting couples trip back by popular demand and it may be the best one we have ever designed. This 12 day and 11 night trip will have us spending two days in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires, referred to often as the “Paris of South America”. Along with the incredible sights and sounds of this magnificent city, we will enjoy a city tour and an evening tango show with dinner. Our headquarters will be the Alvear Palace Hotel in the heart of the Recoleta District, known in town as ‘the’ place to stay.
After our stay in Buenos Aires, we will take a short flight north to Cordoba and a visit to Guayascate Lodge, the best wingshooting lodge/resort in South America. Those who wish to hunt will have three exciting days of high volume dove shooting, while the non hunters will enjoy horseback riding, tour of Villa Maria, or just relaxing at the spa with a massage. All meals are prepared by a professional chef and the service is top notch. The stay here will also include a sampling of Guayascate’s finest wines. If you and/or your spouse are interested in Argentina dove hunting on your trip, Guayascate is the best option.
The city of Salta, located in Argentina’s northwestern province bearing the same name, has climbed the latter as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Argentina. Visitors are attracted to the colonial architecture, such as Convento San Bernardo, the San Francisco Church with South America’s tallest bell tower, and the Cabildo (city hall). This is truly a city where you can immerse yourself in the Argentine culture. Our time in Salta is spent on the first day enjoying a city tour, visiting museums and overnighting at the Legado Mitico Hotel. The second day we take a drive from Salta to Cachi crossing the Cuesta del Obispo where you will have lunch at La Merced Del Alto. After lunch, planned visits will take us through a few small towns in the area including Cachi, Molinos, and Cafayate. Each of these towns have their own special touch, whether it be seeing the prettiest chapels in the valley or enjoying one of villages famous wine cellars. This evening we will overnight at the Grace Hotel in Cafayate. The next day is reserved for wine-touring starting with a visit to El Provenir Winery followed by El Esteco Winery where a tasting and paired lunch is planned. Our last day in Cafayate, the group will transfer back to Salta for your departure flight home.
It is estimated that there are over 35 million eared dove in the Cordoba Province and climbing. Due to it’s rich agriculture and lack of natural predators, the dove here are actually a pest to the farmers and the general populace so hunters are a welcome sight to the region. It is doubtful you will ever encounter so many dove in a single moment, hour or day than what you will see here in the Piquillin trees where the eared dove roosts. In fact the property at Guayascate is actually full of these Piquillin roosts making drives to the fields a matter of minutes in most cases. Unless you request it, you will not shoot the same field twice. Hunting season is year round and we are offering three and four day hunts.
The Alvear Palace, Guayascate, Legado Metico and Grace Cafayate are the most deluxe accommodations in each destination and handpicked just for this trip. You can expect the best service, meals and locations at each property.
