Bolivia Pigeon Hunting
Each year more and more traveling wing shooters are searching for the opportunity to shoot high-volume decoying pigeons. The Chaco region of Bolivia has literally become a haven for pigeons and we now offer a pigeon only hunt for these sought after birds.
Your trip starts with your flight from the States to Santa Cruz Bolivia where outfitter Mozo Vidal will have his staff on hand outside the airport to meet you after you clear immigrations and customs, From the air[port, you’ll transfer by ground, about 4 hours to Pigeon Palace, get settled and start your hunting this afternoon. The next three days are morning and afternoon pigeon hunts. The final morning you have one last hunt then you’ll transfer back to Santa Cruz, to catch your flight back to the States. In total, this will be 7 days of travel and hunting.
If the words “decoying pigeons” are brought up to a group of traveling wing shooters, they will likely ask where and when. It’s because of the immense popularity this type of hunting has taken on that Trek is happy to have partnered with Mozo Vidal. Pigeon Palace Lodge is located in the middle of the Bolivian pigeon migration and from April into August, you can experience this pigeon madness. For three full and two half days, we will shoot over sorghum, corn and sunflower fields near Mennonite farming colonies using decoy spreads and spinning machines. It’s hard to say if there is a better pigeon only program out there that offers the volume and consistency than Pigeon Palace.
Located near the town of San Jose de Chiquitos in the Santa Cruz Province of Bolivia, Pigeon Palace is a spacious 5-bedroom lodge all having en suite bathrooms, A/C and maximum capacity for 10 hunters doubling in the rooms. There is a large great room with bar, fireplace, dining area and several comfortable seating corners allowing guys to stretch out and enjoy themselves. During the hot days of the season, hunters can enjoy the swimming pool at the center of the grounds. Mozo’s wife Vicky is responsible for the kitchen preparing typical Bolivian meals of pork, beef, pasta and desserts.
