Nicaragua Teal and Dove Hunting
Hotel Farallones & Portales
In our efforts to always improve our programs, we have headquartered our programs at the 2 top hotels in Chinandega, The Hotel Farallones and Los Portales, where all shooters will enjoy the luxury of single room accommodations
The Trip
The Hunting
Imagine sitting comfortably in a lush, tropical lagoon as the Papagayo winds are gently tugging at your back when a flock of teal comes zipping into your decoys against the backdrop of a smoking volcano. This scene is played out every day from October-March in Nicaragua, home to one of the largest concentrations of wintering blue-winged teal in Central America. Literally, thousands and thousands of these fast flying ducks call Nicaragua home through February, or as long as the water holds. Add in some challenging white-winged and mourning doves, and you have the makings of a nice mixed bag hunt in warm tropical climates. You will also have the opportunity to take pintails, spoonbills, widgeons and Pichiguilas (Fulvous tree duck).
The Accommodations
Both Los Portales and the Hotel Farallones feature single room accommodations with hot water, AC, cable TV, WiFi, and a large swimming pool with outdoor BBQ setting. Meals and drinks will be taken in the restaurant and lounge.
