Milton HanburryTrek Owner/President
Milton is a native of Jacksonville, FL and loves his sports and outdoor life. He started working for the late Trek owners Bob and Shirley Cloaninger in 1980 as a young man and has been traveling the globe ever since. In 1983 he married the Cloaninger’s daughter Cara, who along with her brother Mike purchased Trek Safaris in 1996 and operated it until Mike passed in 2001. Today Milton and Cara still are passionate about their 45 years of making memories and look forward to seeing you on one of the many trips they host together.
Cara HanburryTrek Owner/Vice President
Cara grew up with Trek Safaris as she is the daughter of the founder’s, the late Bob and Shirley Cloaninger. In 1980 came to work at Trek Safaris along side of her father, mother, brother (the late Mike Cloaninger), and unknown to her at the time her future husband, Milton Hanburry. At a young age Cara started traveling the world and has not slowed down since. Aside from being owner, Cara has worn many hats since being employed at Trek, everything from janitorial, travel agent, accounting, and in between. She along with Milton continue to host many Trek trips and hope to meet you on a Trek adventure some time soon.
Joe PattersonVice President
A native of South West Georgia and a graduate from Valdosta State University, Joe started with Trek in 2012 after a career in construction equipment sales. Among helping oversee the day-to-day sales, traveling and growing new destinations, Joe is also responsible for Trek’s big game programs, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Cuba. Joe’s passion is creating personal relationships with Trek clients while educating them on each destination to accomplish their goal of experiencing that perfect hunting or fishing trip.
Kevin GehmVice President of Fishing Operations
A native of Northeast Florida and graduate of the University of North Florida, Kevin began his Trek adventure in 1995 after a few decades in the restaurant & hospitality business. Initially brought on board to assist on the “fishing” side of the office, to oversee those programs in North, Central and South America, Kevin has expanded his role over the years to also include operating the various wing shooting programs in Nicaragua and Bolivia.
Kathy PriceAdministrative Director
Kathy began her Trek story as a clerk, moving on to documentation, and then the role of travel consultant. In her current position, she is responsible for support operations in numerous areas of the company such as invoicing, travel protection, the database system, general office maintenance and supply, and other varied duties. Kathy also enjoys being an occasional tour guide on some of our specialized trips. Her 30 years with Trek Safaris and multi-layered experience give her a clear understanding of what it takes to provide a client with an outstanding travel experience.
Larry PriceSales Director
Specializes in Argentina Wingshooting programs and unique Argentina based Couples Trips. Larry started with Trek Safaris in 1986 when he was hired by Bob Cloaninger to run a three-month Mexico Quail Hunting operation. This hands on experience then lead to extended periods of being the on-site guide in Colombia, Costa Rica, and Honduras before he returned to the Trek office permanently to begin running our well known Argentina programs. Larry’s first love is Argentina but his years of experience in dealing with multiple countries and their varied hunting conditions and parameters will help him direct you to the countries or programs that will best suite your envisioned trip.
Rachel SassoonAdministrative and Database Management
Rachel specializes in a number of day to day activities including invoicing, accounts received and all aspects of our databasing system. She has been working in the travel industry since 2012 and joined the Trek team in October 2015. Rachel began traveling internationally at age 4 with extended trips to Europe, the near east and Mexico throughout her childhood. She studied abroad in Australia, Brazil and South Africa while she was in college and has explored numerous other countries since graduating. Prior to joining the Trek team she lived in East Africa (Kenya & Zanzibar, Tanzania) for 3 years.
Tana SimonettiGuns & Visas
Tana Simonetti manages the instruction and coordination of gun permits, Passports and Visa applications and facilitates information to outfitters. Tana was born in Kenya, to the Late Patricia and Glen Cottar, attended school in Kenya, after school she was involved with her family’s Camp in the Masai Mara. Tana began employment at Trek Safaris in 1999. Tana resides in Jacksonville Beach, Florida with husband Jim.
Shaun McKannaTravel Consultant
Originally from St. Petersburg, FL and a graduate of the University of South Florida, Shaun began his career as a travel agent in 2007 and joined the Trek team in 2012. He also studied abroad at Trinity College, Dublin and the National University of Ireland, Galway. Shaun began his international travels as a teenager and spent many years traveling to destinations in both Europe and Central America among many others. He now specializes in Argentina flight arrangements and airline ticket bookings for a number of different destinations.
Susan ServaisAir Travel Agent
Susan Servais works in the air department to co-ordinate flights for Trek’s various trips. Susan’s been in the travel industry for many years starting in 1977, after moving to Jacksonville Fla from upstate New York. She was very active in the local chapter of the international organization of Women In Travel , and also earned the Travel Institutes "Certified Travel Counselor” degree. Susan joined the “ Trek Team" in 1998.
