The Trip
Your arrival into Anchorage should be scheduled to accommodate a 4 p.m., one-hour charter flight to Pedro Bay. Many clients arrive to Anchorage the day before they are scheduled to fly to Pedro Bay and overnight at a suggested hotel. We will be glad to arrange this if you wish.
After arriving Pedro Bay, staff from Iliamna River Lodge will be on hand to take the 30-minute boat transfer to the lodge. A welcome parade of the lodge team will greet you upon arrival and show you to your quarters.
The Experience
A typical day starts with a full breakfast around 7am before climbing in your jet boat or floatplane at 8:15 for a full day’s angling adventure. Depending on your designed program, you can expect to have shots at big rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, five species of salmon (see fishing chart in document portal), Arctic Char, and Arctic Grayling. Game viewing is wonderful as well with critters like bears, moose, caribou, eagles and otters right in your back yard!
Normally packed lunches will be prepared and packed by the staff. Should you wish to have a shore lunch one day, this can be arranged with a days notice. After a full day fishing, You will be back to the lodge around 5:00 PM followed by dinner around 7pm.

The Accommodations
Iliamna River Lodge is a rare breed among Alaskan lodges in that it offers an excellent “home waters” fishing program as well as the ability to fly you to that river of a lifetime. The four riverside cabins are comfortable and spacious, and feature exquisite scenic views of the turquoise Iliamna River. In addition to the fishing where all you have to do is show up with your clothes, guests are able to enjoy various activities at the lodge including flying, boat rides, bike trails, and paddling in kayaks.
