Located within Katmai National Park, Kulik River Lodge sits on one of the most productive trout rivers in Alaska—just steps from your cabin door. Trophy-sized rainbow trout, backed by stunning mountain vistas and abundant wildlife, make Kulik a bucket-list destination for serious fly anglers.
Ideally situated along the world-renowned Kulik River, the lodge offers sensational native rainbow trout fishing just outside its front door, as well as convenient access to some of the finest rivers and streams in Bristol Bay and beyond.
The Trip
Your Kulik Lodge sportfishing trip begins when you board our Katmai Air Pilatus PC-12 in Anchorage. From the moment you touch down, the wilderness surrounds you. No roads, no crowds—just pure Alaskan backcountry.
Upon arrival at Kulik, you’ll be taken to the main lodge to receive your Alaska fishing license and a brief orientation. As you settle into your cabin a Kulik guide will stop by to answer questions about fishing options, flies and gear.
You will fish the Kulik River on the day of arrival and venture out into untamed reaches of Alaska’s wilderness throughout your adventure at Kulik Lodge.
The Experience
During the full days of your stay, float planes will provide fly-out fishing for those who have chosen the fly-out option, allowing you a chance to experience the wide variety of fishing challenges offered in the Katmai area. These six days are fully guided fishing days to a paradise where there are no other fishing lodges and just the perfect location for salmon and trout.
Our fleet of float planes operated by our own Katmai Air flight service allows us to fish many of the most fabled waters of the region (along with a few close-kept secrets) within a 100 mile radius of our lodge, including the Kulik, Nashagak, Kvichak, Alagnak, Kamishak and Brooks rivers, as well as the fabled American Creek and Nonvianuk and Kulik Lakes. We also fish a number of legendary creeks known for their unparalleled backcountry trout fishing opportunities such as the Moraine, Funnel Creek, Battle Creek, and the Little Ku just to name a few.
Lunches will be provided by your guide, and after a full day of fishing you will return to the lodge in time for a hot shower and complimentary cocktails before dinner.
The Accommodations
Rustic yet refined, Kulik Lodge provides comfortable double-occupancy cabins with full amenities and daily housekeeping. Meals are hearty and satisfying, and the staff’s attention to detail ensures you feel at home—even hundreds of miles from civilization.
The historic main lodge building, built of native spruce, boasts a large stone fireplace and bar where our guests enjoy complimentary cocktails, reflect on the day’s adventures, and/or tie flies in preparation for the days to come. The lodge’s outdoor hot tub offers guests a relaxing respite with spectacular views of Nonvianuk Lake.
Kulik Lodge enjoys a high rate of return guests, many of of which are made up of multiple generations of family and friends. That speaks volumes about the Kulik Lodge experience and why we think you’ll love the place as much as we do!
