Landing a 20 lbs. peacock bass is among the most prized achievements in international angling. During the 2021-22 season, our groups landed 18 peacocks over 20 lbs. and 64 over 15 lbs.

The mainstream perception of Colombia  is misaligned with the current reality in the country. For the past decade, the Colombian government’s commitment to cleaning up the country has greatly stabilized the travel environment. Von Sneidern’s extensive experience in Colombia, as well as his meticulous planning resulted in an operation that is extremely streamlined and protective of your safety.

We have established agreements with both the Colombian government and the Bachako tribe of indigenous Colombians, granting exclusive rights to fish a large section of the Inirida river and lagoons. The exceedingly hospitable members of the Bachako community serve as lodge staff and your fishing guides.

The Inírida River is the main southern tributary in the Colombian portion of the Orinoco River with a length of 1,419 km. The river originates in the low plain forests of the transitional Amazon biome and is characterized primarily by rainforests and flooded forests.

The boats we use were designed by Von Sneidern and built in Inirida. At 10-meters long, the boats are highly stable, providing two anglers with plenty of room to make long-range casts and minimize the chaos of double hookups.

This is not a big numbers river, but rather a big fish river. Peacock bass fishing requires maximum effort from the angler. You will throw magnum-sized plugs to elicit the anger of big peacock bass, the legendary explosion of their strike and their line-melting runs.
