Between hunts, savor authentic braai dinners prepared over open flame and share stories with the warm, welcoming people who make this country so unforgettable.

With more than 50 years of experience hunting in South Africa, Trek is uniquely positioned to create the shooting adventure of your dreams, from our curated programs to bespoke itineraries customized to your specifications.

You travel out of the U.S. on an overnight flight to Johannesburg South Africa.

This itinerary uses a sample flight out of Atlanta to Johannesburg International Airport. If you need any assistance booking flights, please don’t hesitate to reach out to travel consultant Shaun McKanna at the Trek office.

You arrive to Johannesburg this morning. From here, you will get a domestic flight from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein. Upon arrival in Bloemfontein, you will be met and transferred to De Oude Kraal Country Estate & Spa. Once you arrive to the lodge, you will take the rest of the day to relax after your long travels.

A typical day will commence with an early morning wake-up call. After a quick cup of coffee, rusks and toast you will depart for the morning’s shoot. Snacks and beverages will be offered during the shoot. You will be entertained to a hearty field lunch, and some time to relax fatigued shoulders. Around noon we will commence to shoot the afternoon flight. The day’s shoot will conclude with a photo session of the day’s bag.

Dinner will be served at 7.30 pm and the day’s excitement will be relived around a comfortable fireplace until bedtime. Transportation to the shooting areas will be by means of a luxury 4WD vehicle.
