Uruguay Perdiz & Dove Hunting
La Soffitta Lodge delivers premier accommodations in close proximity to some of the most impressive dove roosts and perdiz habitat in Uruguay. Built in 1897 and fully remodeled in 2012, La Soffitta is a traditional Uruguayan estancia overlooking the lush outskirts of the Rio de la Plata. With a well trained kennel of Brittany Spaniels and some of the finest perdiz fields in Uruguay, you'll enjoy incredible upland shooting in addition to an impressive volume of doves.
Each Uruguay perdize and dove hunting trip is a seven day, six night adventure, with four total days of hunting. The trip begins with a morning arrival into Montevideo, Uruguay. Hector or one of his staff will meet the group and assist you through customs. The next three days will be full days of hunting, with doves early morning, perdiz late mornings, and doves again in the afternoon. The last morning, you will hunt doves and perdiz before returning to Montevideo, where you will catch your overnight flight back to The States.
This trip offers true combo hunt for dove and perdiz. Perdiz will be hunted behind Brittany Spaniels until late morning then return to the lodge for lunch and a siesta. We will try and arrange the pace of the trip around the group. Our afternoons will be spent hunting doves going to roost. This is high volume shooting and in a typical afternoon you can expect to shoot 15-30 boxes of shells. Evenings are spent relaxing back at La Soffitta anticipating the next morning’s hunt.. Every two hunters will have a guide and dog, and you can expect to flush 30-50 perdiz each morning in 2 hours of easy walking. The limits on perdiz are liberal as well. The dove hunting in the afternoons is high volume. You can expect to fire 20-40 boxes in a few hours, and they have several roosts that are close by Ninette. The trip is seven days, six nights with four days of hunting. Also, the possibility of a pigeon or duck hunt can be arranged based on the concentration of birds at the time of the hunt.

If you wish to spend some time traveling back to the early days of when Uruguay was founded, Colonia de Sacramento is only about 20 minutes from the lodge and a wonderfully historic town full of charm and culture.
Longtime Trek outfitter, Eduardo Gonzalez will be the boots on the ground lending his 30+ years of experience in this area to hunters. With his kennel of trained Brittany Spaniels and some of the finest Perdiz ground in Uruguay, you will enjoy morning walks flushing these speedy upland fowl. Each afternoon will be spent shooting high-volume dove in one of the many roosts close to La Soffitta. Uruguayan asados complimented with wonderful wines will round out each evening.
