With vast landscapes teeming with a wide variety of species, from impala and kudu to gemsbok and zebra, we provide ethical, fair-chase hunting opportunities for both seasoned hunters and newcomers.
Our expert guides, deep-rooted in African hunting tradition, ensure that every aspect of your safari is meticulously planned for a thrilling hunt, targeting the species you have your sights set on. At Likhulu Safaris, you’ll encounter the majestic wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and authentic cultural experiences that make Africa’s hunting safaris legendary.
The Trip
Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you’ll be met by a member of Likhulu Safaris and transfer out to S’Dudla Safari Camp, about a 2.5-hour drive. Your first day at camp is a time to relax, soak in the charm of our camp and start planning for your hunting days.
The next six days will be full hunting days, targeting the plains game species of your choice under the guidance and assistance of dedicated and highly seasoned professional hunters. On your final day, you’ll enjoy a relaxing morning before being transferred back to the airport for your flight back to the states.
The Experience
Your thrilling African shooting safari has been meticulously curated by Trek’s local partners, Matt van Vurren and his wife Jacklyn. S’Dudla Safari Camp is located in an idyllic spot in Limpopo Province, providing access to more than 100,000 acres of prime South African hunting terrain.
A typical day of hunting in Africa is an unforgettable experience, filled with adventure and excitement. Owing to Likhulu’s unwavering commitment to sustainable, fair chase hunting, you can expect the thrilling experience of plains game in their natural environment.
Each day before before sunrise, we’ll have coffee and breakfast for you before heading out to hunt. The drive to the hunting area can range from five minutes to an hour, depending on the day’s targeted species.
Hunting is done using the traditional spot and stalk method, so we will remain in our vehicle until we observe tracks of the specific specie you are looking for. Once we observe either the animal or fresh tracks, we will start hunting on foot.
Your dedicated, and knowledgable professional hunter will be attuned to your every requirement, and you can count on their expert assistance throughout the process. They will also be accompanied by trackers with years of experience and the best skinners to prepare your trophies.
Your guide will ensure that you have everything you need each day, including pre-prepared lunch or provisions to prepare a field lunch. Lunch can be enjoyed at a watering hole, or we can return to camp if we are hunting near the lodge. After lunch, you will have a break of an hour or two before continuing your hunting expedition.
The hunting areas will have skinning facilities available, so that we can prepare your trophy as quickly as possible. Once you/us have taken photos of your trophy and we are happy with the photos (we take a LOT of photos), your trophy will be taken to the skinning shed for processing. where a skinner/s will be dropped off at the skinning shed while we continue hunting.
We will hunt until sunset, but this also depend on conditions and area.
