Trek Safaris is pleased to announce the addition of a stunning new estancia to our portfolio of lodges in Patagonia. Located steps from the trout-rich Aluminé River, Estancia Pilo Lil is an absolutely breathtaking property, situated on more than 20,000 acres and offering exclusive use for groups as small as 12.

Patagonia is one of our favorite destinations for families and groups with non-angling members. Horseback riding, 4×4 rides and nature hikes or bike rides are just a few of the activities those who decide to skip fishing can enjoy, all the while soaking in the incomparable beauty and rich culture of Patagonia.

After an overnight flight to Buenos Aires from any number of U.S. hubs, you’ll catch a connection flight to either San Martin de los Andes Airport or Bariloche International Airport. Here, you’ll be met by a Trek partner represented for transfer to Estancia Pilo Lil.

The lodge is a 45-minute drive from the San Martin de los Andes Airport (Chapelco) or a three-hour drive from the Bariloche International Airport. The following five days you and your guide will devise a plan that will make best use of your desires and abilities. The last date you will have time to fish the Alumine one last time before taking your flight back to Buenos Aires.

For those who would prefer to extend or combine other nearby lodges with Pilo Lil, Trek will gladly design a trip to include a few days at San Huberto, Collon Lodge, Estancia Tres Rios or Estancia Arroyo Verde.

For those who have their sights set on wild trout, there are few places on earth as special as Patagonia. Pilo Lil enjoys 10 unspoiled miles of frontage along the Aluminé, one of Patagonia’s finest trout fisheries, and guests will also have the option to explore other target-rich waters, including the lower Malleo, the Quillen , the Malalco and the Collon Cura.

Your experienced local guides will customize your fishing program based on your skillsets and interests. Patagonia is renowned for the frequency of its hatches, providing a thrilling array of fly presentation opportunities, both wading and floating the river.

Non-fishing companions will be hosted throughout this adventure and presented a number of opportunities to explore the breathtaking beauty of Patagonia.

Pilo Lil is a unique family-run estancia with four bedrooms in the main lodge and another two bedrooms in the charming Walnut House. The Lodge offers personalized, all-inclusive service to every guest, including gourmet meals and the finest Argentine wines.

Among the signature features of Pilo Lil is a comfortable living room with a fireplace, a bar and dining room where guests will share their meals. The lodge’s terrace terrace leads to an extraordinary view of the mountains, providing a wonderful venue for enjoying sunsets and cocktails.
