If your angling dreams involve chasing sailfish, roosterfish, tuna and mahi mahi in an idyllic tropical setting, this Central Pacific Coast destination is the ticket. Quepos, Costa Rica is a rare angling destination where the accommodations are as spectacular as the fishing action. And the fishing action here is as good as it gets.

We have designed a five-day, four-night Costa Rica angling adventure with three full days of bill fishing. The trip will begin arrival into San Jose, Costa Rica. Upon arrival and clearing customs and immigrations, you will be met by Flamingo Bay Charters, our ground agents in San Jose. You will be transferred to the Hotel Cariari for the evening. San Jose is a city of well over 1 million inhabitants, so there are lots of activities to be found. The front desk will be happy to make suggestions to you for the best restaurants and night spots.

The next morning, you will be met at the Cariari and transferred to the airport for your 20 minute flight to the coastal city of Quepos, where you will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel to put away your gear and prepare for a full fishing day. The next two days will be full fishing days. Your guide will greet you at your hotel each morning to provide your transportation to the municipal dock where you will board your boats. The last morning, you’ll be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to San Jose to connect with your international departure. If your international flight schedules allows, you may have the option to fly directly to Quepos on day one of the trip.

Beginning in early winter, massive pods of sailfish begin to appear just off the coast of Quepos. This annual migration is why Quepos has long been a premier destination for anglers seeking to satiate their sailfish yearnings. Sails are not the only game in town, however, as you will also be afforded an excellent shot at roosterfish, tuna and dolphin. We will be fishing boats in the 31′ range, all with experienced captains with considerable local knowledge. These boats are all outfitted with the latest technology and equipment required to keep you dialed in to sensational angling action.

Trek can set you up in one of several first class properties in Quepos. The preferred properties are the Tulemar, La Mansion, El Parador and the Si Como No. These properties are all located on bluffs overlooking the beautiful Pacific. All of these hotels are first class with all the amenities you could want. These accommodations offer breakfast each morning before you head out to fish. Although evening meals are not included, these properties all have very nice restaurants. If you would like to see more of the area, we suggest taking the 10-minute taxi ride into town, where you will have a great variety of restaurants from which to choose.
