While Cordoba, Argentina is well known as the premier destination for high-volume dove shooting, just beyond the Sierras de Cordoba lies a hidden gem hunting opportunity where hunters can enjoy the thrill of decoying pigeons as well as droves of doves. Understanding the increasing demand for pigeon shooting, Trek’s partners at HandH outfitters acquired and renovated Escondido Lodge to take advantage of the region’s thousands of acres of peanut, soybean, and corn fields that provide an irresistible food source for migrating pigeons.

Escondido offers all the hallmarks of an HandH property, including the highest levels of service and cuisine and a team of client-focused lodge and field staff. This is a best-of-both-worlds adventure where you’ll experience the thrill of decoying pigeons in great numbers, as well as the region’s incomparable high-volume dove shooting.

You’ll fly into Buenos Aires (B.A.) via an overnight flight from any number of U.S. hubs. From here, you have the option to fly direct to Escondido via private charter for an additional fee, or to transfer airports and catch a connecting commercial flight to Cordoba.

Once aboard HandH Outfitter’s Grand Caravan, you’ll enjoy a scenic flight to Escondido, landing within a short drive to the lodge. Over the next four days, you’ll enjoy two full days and two half days of some of the world’s best guided dove and pigeon shooting.

Escondido Lodge is a result of Trek and H&H Outfitters ongoing commitment to innovation to optimize our wingshooting clients’ experience. Pigeon hunting here is an excitement-filled experience; you’ll shoot from blinds as large birds drop down onto decoys set up by your bird boy.

The driving distance to the fields ranges between 15 and 50 minutes in our luxury 9 passenger vans with air conditioning, refreshments and two-way radios. Each client shoots with their own experienced professional bird boy, who will provide shells, act as a loader, retrieve downed birds and keep cool drinks ready. Shooting continues until noon, when the group gathers in a shady grove of trees for a traditional Argentine asado (barbecue) complemented with salads, gourmet desserts and fantastic wines.

Lunch can also be served at the lodge where you can enjoy a siesta in your air-conditioned bedroom. The shoot in the afternoon continues until about 6 pm., when we head back to the lodge for dinner and connecting with our group.

Escondido Lodge is located in the western side of Cordoba province in the largest irrigated area in Argentina.
The peanut, sunflower and sorghum fields in the area together with many acres of roost make this area an incredible habitat for doves and pigeons. The pigeon season runs from the last week in March to the first week in August. The dove season runs year round.

The lodge has eight spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms. Escondido’s adjoining living and dining area’s provide an ideal gathering place for group’s seeking to connect around the day’s activities and their passion for the outdoors.
