Most avid wingshoooters know Cordoba is high-volume dove shooting’s capital. The less-traveled road north to Tucuman leads to a place where the bird hunting action is also out of this world and a special family waits to host you for an unforgettable shooting adventure.
Inti Malal Lodge, run by Outfitter Gustavo Olsen, never ceases to amaze our clients who had never heard of Tucuman before planning their adventure with Trek Safaris. And from May through October, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place anywhere in the world to find such incredible numbers of doves.
You’ll also have the opportunity to hunt pigeons at Inti Malal. This is a slam dunk combination hunt with exceedingly impressive accommodations.
The Trip
Each Argentina dove hunting trip is an eight day, seven night adventure, with four full days of shooting. This trip starts in Buenos Aires, where you will arrive early in the morning in to Argentina.
Our agents will collect you and assist with your gun papers, and then you will make the private transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to Tucuman. Gustavo Olsen will meet you in Tucuman and drive you one hour to the Inti Malal Lodge, where, if time permits, you will have an afternoon shoot.
The next four days are full wingshooting days, broken into a morning and afternoon session with lunch and a nap in between. On the last day, Gustavo will take you back to Tucuman for the flight to Buenos Aires, where our agents will again assist you with private transfer and your gun clearance.
The Experience
Argentina dove hunting in Tucuman is a little different than other areas of Argentina. You are up early and out to the field for a three to four hour hunt. After the hunt, we will go back to the lodge for lunch and a siesta before heading back out for the afternoon hunt.
We will shoot over sorghum and sunflower fields in the morning, and either waterholes or roosts in the afternoon. The afternoon waterhole hunts are a sight to behold, with many thousands of dove circling small potholes or lagoons. This is a super unique type of dove shooting, and you’re unlikely to encounter such intense concentrations of birds anywhere else on earth.
The Accommodations
The Inti Malal Lodge sits on 225 acres and has 14,000 square feet of comfort, offering eight bedrooms, all with private baths, a Jacuzzi with spa and dry sauna, a large living area and a veranda with a deck and a fire pit that overlooks the 80 acres of sorghum and sunflower. O
lsen has made sure his wine cellar represents Mendoza’s finest wines, as well as imported Cuban cigars for those who wish. Meals will be arranged by the chef from Hosteria San Huberto, the Olsen family’s world class and wildly popular trout lodge in Patagonia.
