Despite its premier location in the heart of a major waterfowl flyway, there are extremely limited duck hunting opportunities in Paraguay. Fortunately for Trek, our new partnership with the De Bernadis family has opened up a sensational Paraguayan no bag limit duck hunting opportunity for our clients.
The De Bernadis family legacy has been forged by 30 years of experience in the hunting service industry. Their latest venture, Parque Zanjita Lodge, not only delivers sensational duck and pigeon hunting, but the lodge’s location along the Paraguayan River brings the added bonus of golden dorado fishing into play.
The Trip
This program is for three full days and two half days of guided duck hunting and four night accommodations at Parque Zanjita. The lodge is located just 10 minutes away from the duck and pigeon blinds where you’ll shoot. With extremely generous limits of 50 to 60 ducks per day per hunter, Parque Zanjita promises some of the most productive waterfowl hunting you’ll ever encounter.
To reach Parque Zanjita, you’ll take an overnight international flight to Silvio Pettirossi Intrnational Airport (ASU) in Asuncion. You’ll be met by a Trek partner represented and be transferred around two hours to the lodge. On the day of arrival, you’ll settle in and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon duck hunt.
The following three days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon hunts for a variety of exotic duck species, including the highly coveted rosy-billed pochard. You’ll also have the opportunity for a pigeon shoot and optional golden dorado fishing. Your final day includes a morning duck hunt before embarking on your journey home.
The Experience
The Villa Oliva region is home to various species of exotic ducks. Some common species you may encounter include the highly coveted Rosy-billed Pochard, whistling duck and Silver Teal. You’ll hunt around massive rice fields where highly experienced guides will set blinds and array decoys.
After a morning hunt and a hearty lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to head back to the blinds or hop on a boat right by the lodge for some golden dorado action. Well-trained local guides will attend to your every need, and the attentive lodge staff will spare no effort to ensure your stay is one that you’ll always remember.
The Accommodations
Parque Zanjita is a quaint and rustic lodge, recently upgraded with modern amenities. Its three comfortable rooms are double occupancy, providing you with exclusive use for just six shooters.
The lodge’s picturesque location along the Paraguayan River offers stunning views from the swimming pool and covered seating area. Cocktails and excellent local cuisine are included in your package for this unforgettable adventure.
