The Trip
We at Trek have designed a special four-day, three-night Costa Rica sailfishing adventure offering two full days of fishing. This shorter trip has proven to be the perfect weekend getaway for those folks who might have structured family vacations during the summer, but still need to satisfy that fishing urge. Delta, American and United Airlines all offer daily service into Liberia, Costa Rica, and our travel professionals will be happy to give you a quote from your hometown.
These new routings allow travelers to be able to bypass Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose altogether, eliminating the need for lengthy ground transfers or in country flights. Upon arrival into Liberia, our Costa Rican associates Flamingo Bay Pacific Charters will greet you and provide the transfer 45 minutes by van on to Flamingo Beach and your accommodations at the Flamingo Beach Resort, your home away from home for the weekend.
On the morning of the last day, you will be met at the hotel and be transferred back to Liberia to connect with your scheduled international departure.
The Experience
You’ll have the ideal set-up here for your days of battling saltwater giants. Each day you’ll step aboard a 30′ boat loaded down with food, lunch, drinks and tackle.
The summer months in Flamingo Beach historically have the very best sailfish bite to be found in Costa Rica. Although sails are your main focus, we normally have anglers heading in with tuna and dorado to have prepared for them at one of the excellent local eateries. Marlin have also been known to crash the spread, so be prepared. Your local captain and mate have fished these waters their entire lives and will definitely be able to put you in the best possible position to hook up.
The Accommodations
Margaritaville Beach Resort, located in Playa Flamingo, features casual-luxe rooms and suites overlooking tropical gardens, an expansive resort pool, and the ocean. The resort also features a full-service spa. In addition to world-class fishing, guests may also choose to take a day for other activities, such as whitewater rafting, zip-lining, volcano tours or scuba diving.
