If you’re looking for a high-volume wingshooting destination that sees extremely limited shooting pressure relative to other well known hotspots, Trek is pleased to introduce you Rancho Cristobal. Opening in 2024, Rancho Cristobal invites you to be among the very first to experience a thrilling new shooting adventure.
An impressive modern hunting lodge with rustic charm, Rancho Cristobal is ideally situated in the heart of one of Argentina’s premier agricultural centers and highly buffered from other outfitters in the region. Lodge Owner James Jenkinson, a 15-year veteran in the hunting hospitality industry, has secured the exclusive rights to hunt a massive swath of acreage farmed with sunflowers and other small-grain crops that doves and pigeons find irresistible.
Jenkinson has assembled a world-class lodge and field team that is excited to welcome guests with sensational shooting, high-touch service and terrific Argentinian cuisine, wines and drinks. Horseback riding, a full-service spa and golf are a few of the activities that also make Rancho Cristobal an excellent getaway for non-hunting companions.
The Trip
To reach Rancho Cristobal, you’ll take an overnight flight from the U.S. into Buenos Aires (B.A.), where you’ll be met by a Trek partner representative to transfer you to B.A.’s domestic airport for a flight to either Parana or Santa Fe. Upon arrival at your chosen airport, our hosts will pick you up and drive you directly to the lodge in our new fleet of trucks and vans stocked with refreshments.
Once you arrive at the lodge, you’ll have time to unwind and recharge, as there is no hunt on arrival day. Depending on which adventure package you choose, you’ll enjoy 3.5 or 4.5 days of high-volume shooting, including one unlimited pigeon hunt.
You may upgrade this adventure to include more pigeon hunts, perdiz, or duck hunts (depending on conditions). The perdiz and duck hunting seasons are May through July.
Your final day is a morning hunt with lunch, followed by your transfer back to Santa Fe for your flight back to B.A. and your international flight home.
The Experience
Rancho Cristobal’s seclusion away from other lodges, their meticulous management of roosts and abundant water sources from area lakes and rivers yield incredibly high bird numbers within close driving distance from the lodge. The lodge’s gun room is stocked with the latest Benelli and Beretta shotguns, specifically designed and manufactured to handle high-volume dove shooting.
You’ll start each day with coffee and a full breakfast before heading out to the fields. Rancho Cristobal’s ideal location means our drives to the shoot are normally in the 20-30 minute range.
Each shooting day will consist of a morning and afternoon hunt with time for lunch and a siesta in between shoots. Highly attentive and well trained bird boys are always by your side to lend expert guidance, keep your guns loaded and provide refreshments.
You are welcome to shoot as much or as little as you choose, and the staff is always at the ready to take you back to the lodge at any time. You’re invited to cool off in the pool, enjoy a massage, rest up before dinner (or all of the above).
Each evening, you’ll enjoy cocktails and an exquisite dinner consisting of local favorites and premier Argentinian wines. For those looking to extend the evening, the clubhouse is the spot where you can belly up to the bar, shoot some billiards and swap stories with your fellow hunters.
The Accommodations
Rancho Cristobal comprises eight spacious suites each with en suite bathrooms and a private terrace. The lodge’s impressive clubhouse boasts an indoor/outdoor bar, pool table, big screen tv and large open fireplace.
Additional features include a pool, an eight-person Jacuzzi and a separate pool house with an open fireplace, perfect for enjoying the sunset. The wellness centre offers full massage, beauty and gym facilities.
